British Mercury Newspaper
A copy of the British Mercury, a newspaper issued by the Sun Fire Office. First printed in 1710, the year the Sun was formed, it was initially printed three times a week until 1712, when it became a weekly publication. It was issued free to their policy holders and on sale to the general public. It was discontinued in 1716 and replaced by a quarterly publication called the Historical Register which continued until 1721.
