Public Tours, FOIL quiz night and IM member only events…

Public Tours

The Insurance Museum is running two public insurance history tours later this month. The tours will look at the history of insurance within the Insurance District, otherwise known as EC3. It will go down the streets and around the buildings where the stories actually happened.  There are spaces remaining for the second tour, details and link to book below:

  • 29th July at 5pm. Led by Pete Zymanczyk, Fire Insurance Historian and Expert City of London Tour Guide.  Book tickets here.

Tours last two hours, are limited to 20 people and cost £25 per head. We will book on a first come, first serve basis.

Quiz night with FOIL in support of the Insurance Museum

FOIL (the Federation of Insurance Lawyers) is planning a Quiz Night to fundraise for the Insurance Museum. It will take place on 11 September at 6pm, 39 Essex Chambers 81 Chancery Lane, London, WC2A 1DD).

The quiz will look at all things insurance, not the technical knowledge, but the interesting facts, stories and people. Our Quiz Master is Paul Miller, who not only is an Insurance Museum Trustee, but also an expert on the quirky stories, celebrities, sports stars, and films. He knows how much legs, smiles and movies are insured for. The Insurance Museum team will be helping with other areas such as insurance history, famous people and events. There’ll be sections on the usual subjects, general knowledge, music and sports.

We are looking for teams of up to 4 people, at £140 (plus VAT) per team, with prizes for the best team and a raffle after the quiz. Food will be included. Places will go on a first come first served basis.

All proceeds will go to the Insurance Museum, which will support the Museum’s aims to connect people with the story of insurance and preserve insurance heritage. The Insurance Museum is FOIL President, Howard Dean’s, nominated charity for 2025, and running such events is one of the ways FOIL supports the Insurance Museum.

If you are unable to make the London Quiz Night, there will be another in Manchester, later in the year.
