M & M Underwriting to Sponsor the Insurance Museum

We would like to thank all those that came to our fundraiser event on 1st October, and especially those who donated or have since become Insurance Museum Members. In particular the Insurance Museum would like to thank Jack McIlduff, John O’Roarke, and Julian Radcliffe for their generous donations. The Marsh Foundation has also generously donated money to the IM and we look to continue our relationship with them over the coming years.

Our latest Insurance Museum Sponsor is M & M Underwriting. M & M has committed with a multi-year donation for the next 5 years. This covers a strategic time for the Insurance Museum, as it establishes its education and careers programme and public engagement activities.

M & M Underwriting Limited is an MGA founded in 2008 that focusses on providing Product Liability insurance to UK-based Manufacturers, Research and Development organisations and University spin-outs typically working within the Automotive, Transportation, Marine, Defence and Energy Sectors or with North American Customers. M & M targets businesses with a premium spend of £2,000 to £7,500 plus tax that don’t “fit” an online Insurers’ Statement of Fact but lack the budget to pay a higher Minimum Premium.

Gary Honey, owner and director of M & M Underwriting Limited, says that “despite working in the industry for over 30 years, the historical nuances of “Insurance” and its fundamental contribution to our modern world still stretches far beyond my knowledge. The Insurance Museum aims to share our story and inspire new generations to contribute to our successful future, and I am delighted to see M & M’s logo standing proudly alongside so many great brands who wish to contribute to the Museum’s long-term vision.”

Reg Brown, Chairman of the Insurance Museum, says, “it’s wonderful to have another insurance business financially supporting the Insurance Museum, allowing us to achieve our aims of telling the story of insurance and inspiring new generations to work with the sector. Insurance businesses and organisations of all sizes are found within our “Hall of Sponsors” on our website, shown during events, and features in Insurance Museum webinars. M & M Underwriting now join the other companies who have financially supported us over the past few years.”

As always, the funds donated to the Insurance Museum will pay for public programming, particularly the tours and webinars, strategic development to ensure sustainability and resilience, and further fundraising to establish a secure income stream.

If your company is interested in financially supporting the Insurance Museum, please contact Howard Benge, at director@insurancemuseum.uk.
